After racking up a 38th straight dual match victory over league foe Central on Wednesday night (54-12), the Cougars embarked upon their final regular season tournament of the year, the Mission San Jose Invitational. After completing a remarkable 31-0 record on Day 1, the Cougars managed to put their depth on display (once again) as without 3 top wrestlers, the team won their 8th tournament of the year by a whopping 105.5 points!
Five wrestlers earned tournament titles, the most ever for the team at Mission San Jose. Devin Everk (119), Alec Dieter (135), Zach Nevills (171), Tommy Burriel (189), and Taylor Ferguson (215) all brought home 1st place hardware while Alec Dieter also took home the tournament's most outstanding wrestler award. Sonny Cervantes (135), Adrian Salas (145), and Blake Thompson (152) settled for 2nd place finishes after strong tournaments as well.
